Within the Lower Otter Valley we are committed to enabling vibrant rural communities.

We believe that affordable housing for local families is critical to the future of these local communities and we aim to provide local housing that is valued by future generations for its sympathetic design, reduced carbon footprint and energy efficiency.

Greenway Lane

-   New housing and allotment scheme

In response to a demand for affordable homes for local people, Clinton Devon Estates is proposing to release land at Greenway Lane, Budleigh Salterton for high quality affordable and open market homes with improved allotments.

Discussions are underway with Budleigh Salterton Town Council to develop outline ideas for the two and a half acre site which has been leased, by the Estates, to the Town Council for many years to provide allotment space.

Clinton Devon Estates have been working with Exeter-based architects Lacey Hickey Caley www.lhc.net to produce some initial concept designs for new homes and allotments as a basis for further discussion with the local community.

The Estates are also working with Cornerstone www.cornerstonehousing.net, an established Devon-based Housing Association which has developed, and is responsible for the ongoing management, of a number of successful affordable housing projects across the county.

Clinton Devon Estates aims to provide a local housing and allotments scheme that is valued by future generations for its sympathetic design, reduced carbon footprint and energy efficiency.

Among the sustainable features being considered are solar hot water and kitchen gardens for each affordable home and rainwater harvesting for the allotments.

Illustrative outline plans will be on show at Budleigh Salterton Public Hall on Friday 10th June from 2:00pm – 6:00pm

They will also be available to view at www.eastdevon.gov.uk where community feedback can be registered.
